Phuket - day1
Taking Tigerairways from new Budget Terminal.Dep 07:00 Arr 07:35 (Thailand time -1 hr than local time)
didn't sleep well last night as I'm afraid I couldn't wakie on 5am to get to airport by 6am. LOL. basically i think i just had a nap not a slept. i'm pretty excited for my b-day trip! yeah^^
arrived budget terminal at 6am. after checked-in, we had a simply egg&toast breakfast in the airport. hmm the taste just simply un-delicious. anyway, since we will arrive phuket in 1.5 hrs later, will grab something to eat when we landed.
At arrival hall, we headed to the taxi/ car rental counter beside the airport information counter located on 1st floor. we took the mini-van service (100B per person) to phuket city. they transferred us to another car at their head office as most of the ppl r heading to patong or other beaches. when we arrived phuket city, its ard 9.30am. shopping center r only opening after 10am. walking ard, the only option for us to fill up our tummy left mc'd. not many ppl in the weekdays morning, so still feeling okay. we ordered the pork burger. hehe, quite juicy for the meat.
eating mc'd pork burger!
walked pass Robinsons Market at Talad Kaset. this is the morning market which selling fresh vegetables, fruits, & meats. some ppl say it's a way to get into the local ppl daily life & cultural. but i really can't stand the smell. After breakfast, we're walking to a market called 'Phuket Square' at Tilok Uthit 2 Rd, Phuket City, near to the Royal Phuket City Hotel. That's a place selling clothing, shoes, snacks food & some souvenirs. Price in Phuket is relative lower. it's abt 90-100B for each tops. bought some cartoon pajamas for family & some tops for myself. After some shopping in sweats, we took a tuk-tuk to Ranong Rd (30B each) to catch the 'blue bus' to Chalong Bay.
on the rides on tuk-tuk. hot weather!
At Ranong Rd, find the correct bus route. They will park the bus just beside the road. its easy to get on the right one by the sign board on the mirror. We catch a song-thaews (Blue Bus) to Chalong Bay (20B per person). patched some sand during the journey on this open-air transportion. pass by the Wat Chalong temple, but we didn't stop by & play a visit as the weather is rather hot. The driver stop us at Chalong Pier parking lot, we gave him extra 20B as tips. according to my thai frens, tips amt should be ard 10-20B will do.
on the open-air 'blue bus'
We walked to the resort office at Chalong Pier. wow finally get some air-conditioned spaces with welcome drinks & free internet access. We've booked a 2pm speedboat transfer to the Koh Raya Yai at Racha Island. The residents at the The Racha resorts consists of 80% Caucasians & 20% Chinese-Asians. the speedboat took abt 50mins rides to get to the island.
beautiful private beaches when we arrived.
Arrived The Racha. We've booked this great deal from wotif (superior villa 3680B per night). the villa is awesome! very spacious bedroom & bathroom, private terraces, cable tv, dvd player, & some welcome fruits as well.
we have all together 3 shower choices! 2 indoor 1 outdoor.
resting & wash up for dinner
